Pick your setup

Two packages, one price.

To celebrate another Tassie spring, I'm offering either package for $1,790 fully installed. Which one suits you comes down to whether you're looking to cover more of the property, or keep an eye on the front door. Want something else? Need more cameras? I can help find a solution to your problem — give me a call!

Why I fit HiLook

HiLook is Hikvision's range for homes. If you haven't heard of Hikvision, it's one of the largest manufacturers of security products in the world. HiLook keeps all the benefits of Hikvision with a simpler feature set and a friendlier price.

HiLook is the next level up from the DIY and wireless cameras sold at the hardware store. Those want a monthly subscription before they'll show you last week's footage. They slow down your Wi-Fi, and your video footage ends up on some company's server in the cloud. HiLook fits my brand's motto: pay once, no subscriptions, and local secure storage that keeps you in control.

These HiLook cameras function effectively 24/7. They capture clear footage from bright sunny days to the darkest corners, boasting impressive night-vision performance extending up to 30 metres. Smart detection and notification systems ensure you're always informed when it matters, while minimising nuisance alerts.

Exactly what you're getting

Every part by model, so you can compare my quote against anyone else's like for like. It's all HiLook — the same family as Hikvision, and gear I'd put in my own place.

Either package

What's included, no matter what you pick.

The price isn't just the gear in a box. It's the gear, fitted properly, cabled neatly, set up and explained — by the same person who quoted it.

  • Cameras mounted and aimed where you want them
  • Up to 35 metres of cable per camera, run and tidied
  • Recorder set up and remote viewing on 2 devices
  • A walk-through of the system, and your credentials handed over
  • Cabling compliance certificate where required
  • 12-month workmanship warranty

You own it. All of it.

No monthly fee, no monitoring contract, no footage held hostage on somebody's server. The recorder lives in your house, the hard drive is yours, and if you ever want somebody else to work on it, you have every credential you need.

That's the whole reason I set systems up this way — it's your property, so it should be your footage.

The asterisk, explained

What the price assumes.

$1,790 is the price for a standard single-storey installation. Most homes on the coast are exactly that. Here's what it means, and what would change it.

A standard install means

  • A single-storey home with roof space you can get into
  • Gear mounted at heights reachable from a standard ladder
  • Internal cable routes to the equipment locations
  • Penetrations through timber, weatherboard or brick veneer
  • A power point within 2 metres of the recorder
  • The job done in a single visit

Priced separately, before I start

  • Conduit, or underground and trenched runs
  • Links between separate buildings — house to shed
  • Double-storey work, or anything needing scaffolding
  • Drilling through full brick, render, concrete or tile
  • Roof spaces with no manhole or no room to work
  • Extra cameras beyond the package

Questions

Things people ask me.

Is $1,790 really the whole price?

Yes, for a standard single-storey installation. I'm not registered for GST, so there's nothing to add on top. If your place needs more than a standard install — conduit, underground runs, double-storey work — I'll let you know the price before I start anything, and you approve it first.

Do I have to pay a monthly fee?

No. Your footage records to a recorder inside your own home, not to somebody else’s cloud. You buy the system once and it’s yours — there’s no subscription, no monitoring contract and no ongoing fee to view your own cameras.

Can I watch the cameras on my phone?

Yes, and I set that up on two devices before I leave, then walk anyone else through it over the phone at no charge. It needs a working internet connection at the property — some connections, mobile broadband especially, may not support it. Your system still records locally either way.

What if I want more cameras than the package includes?

Easy — I’ll quote the extras on top when I come out and look. The package price covers the cameras listed, and anything beyond that gets priced before I start.

How long does the install take?

Most standard homes are a single day. I’ll confirm when I quote, and you’ll get a walk-through of the system plus all your credentials handed over before I go.

Which areas do you cover?

Burnie, Ridgley, Somerset, Wynyard, Penguin, Ulverstone, Devonport, Smithton, Latrobe and Deloraine — right across the North-West coast. There’s no travel charge on installations anywhere in my service area.
